technology makes it easy to keep in touch with blogging friends. you can "follow" people. you can "subscribe" to rss feeds. you can even "twitter". or have fresh blog posts "fowarded" right to your inbox.
as one who got rid of his blackberry in 2004, i must confess that none of those apply to me.
i prefer to simply click through on my blog roll (listed as more journeys). i kind of think of it as knocking on a neighbor's door. sometimes no one is home. days (weeks) might go by without a new diary, and you wonder... how are they... is everything ok... i hope their life is full of joy today.
and other times you are surprised by a new posting. the latest insights. a personal story. you can smell it when you click through. like a bouquet of garden flowers. a fresh pot of coffee. and hot-from-the-oven cookies, all rolled into one. before i read a single word i am already smiling.
so the question for you... how did you get here today? did you follow, click, link... or was it just a knock?

I arrived through a "reader." An application that lets me know when you have something new to say...
well, usually i can see, on my blog roll, when you have posted, kind of like a youhooo! i have a story for ya...come on over.
i don't know what it is called, but who ever has posted most recently appears at the top of the list.
but, today was a little different due to the blog canceling and remaking.
if i do not hear from someone for awhile...i usually go and leave a little note.
Google reader for me. I'm subscribed to far too many blogs. And I confess, despite how much I enjoy gleaning so very much from so very man blogs... I miss stopping by peoples blogs every day and catching up on the comments. I miss the old way.
Sometimes I get here via Bloglines.com and sometimes by clicking on my Blogroll (as I did today). Guess I just don't want to miss what you have to say :)
oh...and sometimes i click on people when i see them in other peoples comments.
i meet new people that way and vitit with the ones i know as well.
so, somtimes i meet people at other people's houses.
i see that kansas bob was here, maybe i will go and knock on his door.
Bloglines. I almost hate to admit that. I've a friend who refuses to use it because it is "ugly". But I follow a lot of folks, and this makes it easy.
It also lets me keep track of post I want to revisit... like two of yours :)
I check in on you from time to time. :)
your blog site is bookmarked. So, I have a bookmark list of blogs I occasionally visit.
thank you all... this has been informative. nAncY, i must admit that sometimes when I want to see what's going on in bloggy-world, i check out your blog roll. flyaway... i hear what you say... i've noticed a decrease in "dialougue" over past year and could be because people post, leave and don't come back to reread the comments.
may try some of your methods in the future. peace to you!
i find it delightful that you make use of the blog roll on my page.
it is not too easy to keep in touch if they don't write....um...just sayin.
i just thought of another way that we keep in touch that has nothing at all to do with any kind of media or device...the Holy Spirit.
we are one in Spirit...we are in touch.
also...through prayer.
